Fundraising Activities
Our goal is to raise the funds needed for our Pit Latrine Project and to facilitate two mobile medical clinics before we return to Uganda in January 2027. We also continue to raise funds for our Community Garden Project. Our fundraising in 2025 and 2026 will primarily be done through tax-deductible donations and by showcasing our Ugandan-made items, quilts (made by Amber) and cards (made by Julie) at craft markets in and around Winnipeg. Prior Fundraising Activities
CLEARSPRING MALL CRAFT MARKET - NOV 15 & 16, 2024
​​​Looking for that special, unique Christmas gift? Please come visit us at the Clearspring Mall Craft Market in Steinbach. We will have a table set-up near Sobey's, where we will be selling Ugandan-made craft items such as paper-beaded jewelry, paper bowls, trivets made from palm and banana leaves, leather bookmarks with paintings on them, stone chess boards with matching chess pieces, wooden beaded clutch bags, beaded Christmas tree ornaments, African printed fabric items that include handbags/make-up bags, crossbody bags (perfect for the beach), hair scrunchies and hairbands. Our Founding Director also makes cards, using photos she took in Uganda, during her many trips there. ​​

COUNTRY PEROGY SHOP FUNDRAISER - NOV 15 to 29, 2024
Just in time for those get-togethers with family and friends during the Christmas season! Country Perogy Shop is a local family-owned business located in Kleefeld, MB, specializing in the production of gourmet home-style recipe perogies.

We raised $338 from our perogy fundraising sales. Country Perogy also gave a $50 donation in support of the charity work we are doing.

Tickets are $10 each, with a chance to win up to $5,000!!
To purchase tickets, you can e-transfer your payment to hands.serving.ug@gmail.com, along with your name, phone number and email address. Once we have received your order, we will fill out the raffle tickets for you and contact you with your ticket #s for the draw. ​​

DOUBLE YOUR DONATION
Realtor, Candice Bakx-Friesen, has graciously offered to match all cash donations up to $400! That means donating $20 turns into $40! Just think how quickly we could reach our goal of $4,500, with your generosity!

We reached our goal of raising $800 in cash donations. Anyone who donated $25 or more will receive a 2024 tax receipt.

2023 - 2024
Over the past couple of years, we have had three pizza fundraisers (Rocco's Pizza in May 2023 - Steinbach, MB and Spenst Bros Pizza in November 2023 and May 2024 - Winkler, MB). We also had a meat fundraiser in May 2024 (Spenst Bros - Winkler, MB and Unger Meats - Mitchell, MB). These are all local, family-owned businesses that we support by using their products for some of our fundraising activities. ​​
